Volunteering makes you feel good!
Your volunteering stories
You won’t regret volunteering!
So many people have told us about how good volunteering makes them feel! Feeling useful and seeing the difference a little help and company can make to others can give your own wellbeing a huge boost. Giving can also help us to focus on the positives and realise that a little local action can make a big difference to society. It can reassure us that we can influence and change things for the better.
Support services are also recognising the role volunteering can play in keeping people well and happy. Health and social care workers want to help people with all sorts of things, but don’t often have the time or the opportunity. They see that volunteers can play an important role in enabling people to have social contact and a bit of fun, even when times are hard.
